Question i am working on a 94 ford explorer it will start fine when it gets hot it will cut off. if i take the return fuel line loose for a few minutes then reconnect it then it will start back for a few minutes then it will do it again
Answer Reasons for this can be the fuel pressure regulator,PCV valve stuck open, incorrect fuel pressure,MAF sensor,MAP sensor,or it may be a vacuum leak. From experience with FORD it may be the idle solenoid on top of the throttle body.Check all of these and see whats happening. You didnt say if the check light came on or how many miles were on the engine. If the engine is in resonably good shape. If its got a lot of miles then it may be related to valves and compression.Mainly from what you say regarding the fuel return line im thinking its fuel related. The EVAP system may have a leak but usually when it does the MIL will tell you.(Check engine)
