Question
Car just died while driving. I replaced distributor due to oil leak from internal seal. Still no spark. I was told my ECU was bad because it will not give an error code when the 2 pin connector is shorted. CEL stays solid when key is in on position. I replaced it with a known good ECU....still no spark. I tested the main relay just to be sure...it tests out good. When I turn the key on CEL comes on for 2 seconds, then goes off. Are there other sensors that would cause this?
thanks

Answer
Did you check the igniton fuse?....the main one on the firewall,I have seen this happen a few times and replacing the distributor is usually the cure,as like you say oil leaks in the electrics and causes this,Doesnt have an external module as its built in the distributor but test the distributor for correct voltage anyway.Could be faulty?Did you replace the cap and rotor?.also the wires,,,and plugs while youre at it.One other thing is the igniton switch itself ,seen these go bad and cause no spark so try all these and get back to me......this is an OBD2 car and shorting the connector wont show the codes so get a scanner from pep boys and read it,plugs in under the dash,,,,im pretty sure 1995 uses the OBD2 it will say under the hood on the factory sticker,,,
