Question
SHOULD AIR BAGS BE REPLACED IN A 1998 CAMRY WITH 100K MILES ON THE ODO?  IN OTHER WORDS, IS IT SAFE FOR A NEW DRIVER TO PROTECT IN AN EMERGENCY?  THANX

Answer
If you have the owners handbook it will tell you what the time period is to replace them. Most cars are 10 years either check them or replace regardless of mileage.Other makers vary such as Volvo which is 15 years, so i believe Toyota is 10 .If the system is checked and all is well ,then the bags should be ok but its up to the technician if he feels they are in need of replacing. You are looking at an expensive component so it would be worth while to shop around first.
