Automotive/Accord window off track
Expert: Sean Halliday - 6/28/2006
QuestionYou keep referring to the handle, I'm referring to the actual door lock, the little tab up by the window that you push to lock and pull to unlock. I'm going to assume there is rod down there somewhere that needs to be unhooked like the handle rod. Thanks.

Thanks, but this screw isn't behind the handle, it's behind the actual door locking tab. But the door handle did prevent me from removing the arm rest so I'll use that answer on that problem.

I have a 2001 Honda Accord whose back window went off track. It is stuck about 4" below closed. I can get all of the screws out of the panel but the one behind the door lock. How can this screw be reached?
Answer -
shouldnt go off track but anyway the screw behind the handles tricky, you have to unhook the rod thats going to the handle it should have a small plastic lock tab on it,,,,,pull the handle open and try to reach it that way.some doors have a small plastic cover over the screw which you have to hook out with a very small screw driver ,did you remove the arm rest?.....try that and push up on the complete panel.
Answer -
if the screws not behind the handle then the complete handle has to come off its been a while since i took one off but most japanese cars have the same design,,,,,,if it doesnt have the screw off type then some of them need to have the complete handle pushed off or unhooked behind the panel,,
Answerok, sorry i didnt know what you meant,if its a round lock button then it unscrews anti clockwise same as a screw,,,,,,,if its square or youre unable to unscrew it then there is a rod inside the door ,unhook it at the lock ,but most hondas are round so give it a try,,,
