Question What is the timing belt timing for a 1986 Toyota Cressida 1986. 5M-GE
Answer What I can tell you, is that a 'Timing Belt' runs from the motor Crankshaft, to the Cam that operates the Valves in the Motor. The Belt is made of a Rubber/Cloth composite, and over time, deteriorates, stretches, and therefore needs to be periodically replaced. Most manufacturers recommend the 'Timing Belt' be replaced every 30,000 miles, and considering the damage that can result from a broken 'Timing Belt', I'd say whatever it costs to have the Belt replaced, is cheap insurance against that damage.
