Question
I ned a key for a 1970 dodge challenger all I haVE AT THIS POINT IN THE VIN. CAR HAS NOT RAN IN YEARS.NO TITLE FOR CAR. HOW DO I GET A KEY MADE FOR IT

Answer
Kevin,
If the car doesn't run, why do you need a key..?? Sorry. Parts men humor. I couldn't resist! Now to your question seriously..
You can attack this in 2 ways. You can take the cylinder out of the vehicle and take it to a locksmith and have him make you a key. I think that would be expensive and totally unnecessary. The second way to go about this problem is just buy a new lock cylinder and key from your local parts store. Below are part numbers and manufacturers. I'm not at work so I can't give you prices but I would think anything listed below should be under $20.00.
  CS90L Borg Warner
They don't list w or w/o Tilt Wheel for some reason.?
   LC24  Sorensen (w/o Tilt Wheel)
   LC26  Sorensen (w/ Tilt Wheel)
US71L Standard Ignition (w/o Tilt Wheel)
US96L Standard Ignition (w/ Tilt Wheel)
I'm an old parts specialist. I have gotten these numbers out of my Catalog Library. If you have any other questions about parts for that car, just let me know. I have parts catalogs that go back into the 1900's for some vehicles. I hope the above information helps. I'm not always a smart alick and please don't take it personal. Thank you for your question.

Heretofore, I will NOT answer any mechanical question. I am not qualified and can only offer speculations. You are better served by others that are true Techs. With that being said, please only ask about parts and locating obsolete Auto Parts. Thank you. I have the ability to locate quite a few mechanical parts for American made vehicles fron the 1900`s to present. Some are OEM and some are aftermarket. This would include engine, brake and chassis parts. Body parts and trim are VERY difficult to find but you may inquire. If you need assistance in repair, I have illustrated books for major American manufacturers that show some illustrations BEFORE 1974. If needed, I can supply repair manuals for your specific vehicle. PLEASE REMEBER I'M A PARTS SPECIALIST, NOT A TECH!! Thank you.. Skip
