Automotive/Suddenly dying

Question
My 1995 Mazda Protege just recently started dying out of nowhere while I'm driving it. There's no rhmye or reason, sometimes when I'm going 40, sometimes 15. I took it to a guy and he said it wasn't the timing belt and that it was running again but he didn't know why. When I went to pick it up, it wouldn't start and he said it sounded like a fuel injector problem. 10 minutes later it started and I drove it home and to work this morning but it died again in the parking lot. When it dies, the check engine light and battery light come on. Any ideas?? Thanks a lot.

Answer
Check your fuel pump relay and the pump itself. When it dies check the fuel pressure. You can swop the relay with another one in the fuse box as they are similar,(make sure you use the same serial number relay and same pins) if it still doesnt go then you will need a pressure test.If it doesnt read approx 40psi at the injector rail, its the fuel pump which is bad.
