Automotive/Volkswagen Passat Electrical

QuestionQUESTION: The driver side power window and door locks are not working on my 2002 Volkswagen Passat station wagon. The failure first appeared only in cold weather and would function after the car had warmed up. Will not work at all now.
I took the car to a Volkswagen dealer. The replaced the "comfort module" and it had no impact on the problem. They now claim that the power window motor is bad and that replacing this motor will correct all problems.
ANSWER: What is your question? If they say it is bad then it probably is.I have worked on VW passats of this year and they have a multitude of electrical problems so it may well be gone.I have never heard of a comfort module,im wondering why the door lock isnt working at the same time, did they explain this? The door locks could possibly be the relay. The relay is under the hood and that may be why it works when the engine warms up.Get a second opinion at a more less expensive shop as the dealer will charge you much more for this work.

QUESTION: Sorry I wasn't clear. Is there any chance that, if the window motor is bad, that the other issues would be related? The module I referred to is the CCM (Convenience module, I think, rather than Comfort). I have done some additional investigation and have seen several issues posted regarding wiring problems and the possibility that a bad switch on the door lock could cause the problem.
The issues associated with the door lock are:
Remote will not lock/unlock driver's side door (all others work).
Warning signals for headlights or ignition key do not work when exiting the vehicle.
Overhead light does not come on when opening the door (works for the passenger side).
And, of course, the power window does not work.
AnswerThe power windows are connected to the door locks on this car.I have seen all the windows go down while holding the key in the door lock to open the car(try it on yours). It may be your door lock is faulty but you need to see a tech who knows this car.It can also be a faulty window motor so you will need to find which as they are both expensive. The other issues with the light seem like all your problems are in the drivers door.Check all wiring inside the door before buying any parts.
