I have 1987 Chevy.suburban with 350 engine &automatic trainsmisson.Trainsmisson works great in all forward gears including low but has no reverse.transmisson is not making any undo noises.What do you think problem could be?

had the same problem with a car recently and it was a bad valve in the valve body,,the year of your car tells me its time to have it rebuilt by a qualified technician.or replace with a good used one.i dont do any work at all on transmissions because its a very complex job and requires many special tools and a lot of experience.best advice is to get it to a good reliable transmission shop and have it looked at.there are many seals in the transmission and it sounds like one of them is leaking so you have lost the pressure for reverse.sorry i cant tell you more but its not an easy fix.
