Question
QUESTION: I have a 1992 bmw 325i 6 cycl manual. About 3 weeks ago I had my fuel pump replaced because it died on me after about a week it started stalling on me every time it had warmed up to where the temp was in the middle. I had the oxygen sensor replaced and it still doing it. Any suggestions on what it could be? Anything will help. Thank You

ANSWER: Check for vacuum leaks. Also check the hoses for cracks as a leak will make it stall.I assume all the ignition parts are ok?.cap rotor?.plugs?......New fuel filter?

QUESTION: the fuel filter wasnt replaced. I noticed that my coils all werent sparking can that the problem? Also the car runs rich, you get a real strong gas smell as its running and someone told me that since the coils arent all sparking that may be the reason its running so rich. They said that the spark breaks down the fuel so it mixes evenly with the air.

Answer
If you replaced the pump, you need to replace the filter also. Its a must do.If the coil or coils are not sparking then the engine will be off one or more cylinders and cause stalling, poor running. The spark fires the fuel in the combustion chamber and thats all it does. The fuel is mixed already by the throttle body/pcm/air intake/injection system.Have all the coils tested and replace if faulty.
