Automotive/bmw battery charging

Question
Hi, an easy one for you, but will help me no end! My 1992 K reg (UK) BMW 520i is in my driveway with a battery as flat as a pancake. It's dark and wet. I had a quick look this morning with a view to running an extension cable through the letterbox and sheltering the charger under the bonnet. Unfortunately I only had five minutes until the bus left, and the battery is less obvious than in my previous old bangers. I could see a plastic cover with a red + sign in the gloom, which I took to be the live terminal, but I couldn't see how to get at it or the battery. Ideally I need to remove the battery so I can charge it indoors overnight. Can you tell me how to do it?

Answer
The battery on some beemers may be in the boot or under the rear seat.In the boot on the right side or the left side under the back seat. They dont usually put them under the bonnet ,only the + terminal. It has a cable which runs all the way back to the battery.
