Question
I have a 96 Ram Van.  Upon start up, the AC Blows cold, after about a half to one hour of driving, ac quits blowing cold.  I recharged system once and it seemed to be better for a while, but now loses cool after 30 min or so. will blow cold after sitting for a while but it will not last.

Any ideas?

Answer
sounds like its losing the gas or not enough in the system.when you charged it did you test for leaks?,you also need to get it flushed as its 96 i would start again and flush the complete system, replace the drier/ filter and make sure the condenser isnt clogged.if you want it done properly its best to leave it to a shop and thats it done right ,it costs more but they will test it for leaks and pressure so it will work properly.the only way to flush it and test for leaks is with the vacuum machine,,,,,,insert the UV dye and see where its leaking.your compressor may need looked at also,,for efficency under load,,
