QUESTION: what is the MAF sensor?

Answer
It is between the air filter and throttle body.If you go to ebay and type in your ford ranger and year ,you will see a pic of it.It has a plug in and if you start the car then remove the plug,,,if the car stalls out then it is ok.If the idle differs(speeds up) then it is faulty.
