Automotive - german cars

Expert: Ian Crawford - 10/16/2004

Question
there's so much hype surrounding german cars. why so?

Answer

    For a long time, German cars offered more sophisticated
    designs than American and Japanese cars-independent rear
    suspensions, four-wheel disc brakes, etc.  As there were
    no speed limits on German freeways , the steering and
    suspension were much more precise as well.

    Other european cars were equally sophisticated, but
    were not as well-made.

    The american cars are now as well-designed or better;
    in particular, the Germans are having terrible relia-
    bility problems with their electronic parts.
