Question
i have a 1996 saturn 1.9 liter single overhead cam that idles at 2000 rpm how do i get it to go down i heard idle air controll and egr valuve ? please help dont know where idle air controll is located !

Answer
sounds like a leak at the vacuum,do you have any hoses split?..look around and see and do a vacuum test,,,,,,the tester is pretty cheap at the parts store,,,the idle control is usually near or on the throttle body, looks like a cylinder bout half the size of a flashlight,,,,,,,,,,the egr is at the back of the engine,,,,,,,,,,,,it may be sticking so take off the vacuum from it and see what it does it should cause the engine to slow down  it looks like a saucer type ,should have 2 hoses going in to it and a big metal pipe which goes to the exhaust manifold,,,ok lemme know what ya discover, other than that i would have to see your car as it could be a few more things,,,,,,,,intake leak,,,,or the throttle body itself,,,,,,,
