I just bought a 1995 Galant used with 123,000 miles. I have had it one month. Last week oil light flashed on and off a couple of times.  Check oil levels and could not find signs of any oil.  The car lot said they did an oil change the day I bought the car.  I added 3 qts. last week end and now I checked today and shows no oil signs again.  What could cause this and what should I do.?

If returning the car isnt an option then im afraid you have a major engine problem.The oil is being burned out the tail pipe ,,thats if you dont have a real big leak under the car,worn piston rings and valve train are the cause.The  Galants engine is not good over 100 000 miles ,sorry but you need this motor rebuilt.
