Question 2003 mitsu lancer oz rally. i am planning to construct a in their intake systcold air intake for this car. the maf sensor is located directly between the throt body and air box. What do i do with this sensor? will it kick service light on or screw up idle? this will be a custom build intake like posted online. What must i drill out the pvc to fit the sensor inline. ireally dont know how k&n and aem is handling this sensor ems
Answer The MAF sensor must be included or it will not allow the engine to idle properly(if at all) and will activate the check engine light. The K&N kit has the fitting for this sensor as i have one on my Toyota.Basically,it does away with the original airbox and paper filter assembly and does give you some more horse power because of increased airflow. There are many kits for your car on the market and simple to install without drilling or cutting anything.
general auto repair, japanese, bmw, mercedes, mini cooper 1960/2009,general british cars, ford.I DO NOT work on automatic transmissions.Manual transissions i install clutches only. Many people ask me to diagnose noises from their cars, unfortunately i cannot do this unless i hear it.As you appreciate, vehicles can and will make a variety of noises.I DONT UPGRADE or fit aftermarket performace kits, parts, chips, only replacement parts.
