Question
hi i know your not a oldsmobile guy but i would like to ask you anyway, i have a 1995 aurora V8  and it has a lack of power, the car takes off sluggish and when i push the pedal to the floor the rpm meter doesnt rise, and when it does the car still doesnt fly and it runs a temp of about 220-230 (the red starts at 280) is this normal?

Answer
Obviously there is a problem here. If the car is sluggish, and appears to be laboring upon accelerating, I would hazard a guess that you may have a plugged Catalytic Converter. First the Converter would need to be replaced, and then the vehicle would need to be analyzed to find out why the Converter became fouled.
