Question
i have a kia sportage 2wd with a 5 speed and the 2.0 dohc engine. my trouble is that my kia does not want to climb hills on the highway i was driving down the highway at 70 mph and started up a hill when i slowed down to 35 mph. i did down shift to 4th and then to 3rd with no luck of powering up the hill. i have made the trip before and never had any trouble.  i change the oil and plugs, wires coil packs and air filter. the car has 106,000 miles on it. the light is on but the obd 2 scanner did not show a code. any ideas. thank you

Answer
I assume you mean the check engine light?..if so then there must be a code..I would try and find what the code is.That will probably be your problem offhand for power loss it could be ,fuel filter,,,,,,,timing,,timing belt ,,,Are you having any clutch or brake problems?...e..brake isnt binding ?.Try changing the fuel filter...and look for any vacuum leaks..around the manifold.
