Question
I have been using my nissan for traffic surveys in the evening, (sitting at junctions counting cars), i have an inverter 150w and use laptop, also use 12 kettle though 12 v cigar socket and cabin lighting, radio. I run the engine occasionally on idle and occasional gentle revs to keep volts up, but was wondering if i could fit an 85 AH deep cycle battery, will my alternator be able to cope with charging it properly ? and will it affect the engine ECU etc,,, it's a 1995 inj. sunny

Answer
Im sure the battery that is recommended will cope ok..A good heavy duty battery will suffice. The charge on the battery or battery amp wont affect the ECU..only if you reverse the polarity which will damage it.If you use the power a lot ,,a good 30 min drive will recharge the battery.Thats if your alternator and battery are in good condition.the 85ah will work ok.
