Question I have a 1994 Cougar...after I purchased it, it sounded like there was a hissing sound coming from the engine, it wanted to stall when you put it in gear or were stopped at a stop light. I found back by the fire wall that there is a hose missing and can not find what it goes to...There is no hose hanging down so for now it is capped off which has stopped it from wanting to stall when in gear. Can you give me some idea as to what this hose is suppose to be connected to. Thank you.
Answer If it is on the intake manifold then it may be that its supposed to be capped off.You need to get a vacuum diagram from haynes or chiltons and see.Im sorry but i have no idea where it goes because there are so many vacuum hoses and possibilities i would be guessing. If the car runs ok and doesnt stall or other problems then leave it at that.Where does the hose come from?Engine or a sensor or ?
