Question QUESTION: hi..my name is lydia..i`m from IRELAND..Im 13..really want to be a pilot when i grow up..just wondering is the pay good..??
ANSWER: Hi Lydia,
For commercial pilots, pay starts off at £30,000 as a 1st Officer and goes up to £80,000 as a Captain. Not as good as the +£100,000 that used to be paid but depending on the airline, there are perks to the job.
I have a website that tells all about becoming a pilot, from PPL to how to become a commercial pilot. As you're 13, you can actually start flying now and get your PPL licence when you're 16.
Have a look at www.justplanecrazy.co.uk
If there are any other questions feel free to ask.
Best of luck!!!

QUESTION: Hi hus..no i did no flying...but was on airoplanes alot like going to America....I know its totally different..than flying one....How much was it to get started..some people say you need €100,000...???
Answer It costs about 80,000Euros to get fully qualified (excluding general living costs). Apart from help from parents, banks do offer loans for the training at special rates. If you started flying now and got your PPL when you're 16 then by the time you're ready to get the commercial licence you could have 150 hours flying already and so the cost for the commercial will be a lot less.
It is a lot which did put me off, but I was always military rather than commercial. Don't let the cost put you off though...it's a lifestyle and better than than sitting at a desk 9 to 5. The private jet market is expanding rapidly and it's quite a good sector of commercial to be in. Best thing to do is buy a 1 hour lesson and go from there. It's cool though having a flying licence before having a driving licence!!!
The best place to go is Oxford Aviation Training in, well Oxford. They're world renowned for being the best and with them on your cv students get jobs pretty quickly.
