Question I am a CFI with low hours, will be completed with my B.S. in Aviation Science 4/09. I turn 30 the next month 5/09. Is it realistic to attempt to join the AF as a Pilot at my current age? This is assuming I can pass all knowledge and physical tests. I have read of waivers for age, but are they at all feasible to attain? And will my flight experience and degree help me?
Thank you in advance for any insight.
Answer Easy ones first--flight experience and degree help--a lot. If you have the experience you do and are in reasonable shape, the tests shouldn't be a problem.
As far as the age thing goes, I really don't know. The best person to talk to would be a recruiter, either active duty or guard/reserve. I would do it sooner rather than later as I don't know of many people to go to SUPT after age 30.
Hope this helps--fly safe.
Lucky
