good?I don't want to be struggling trying to pays other bills while being
employed as a flight instructor waiting to build up my flight hours.
Answer Hi Ursulo,
Training to become a pilot is very intense. It requires a large amount of studying and training. It's definitely worth it if you really want to become a commercial pilot though.
To answer your other question, flight instructors usually don't earn very much money. They typically earn $10,000-$30,000. If your goal is to fly passengers or cargo someday, then being a flight instructor is usually thought of as just part of the price to pay in order to get there. How many students you instruct and how often determines how long you will have to be a flight instructor. I instructed for two years before being hired at my present job, which I've had for two years (and I still owe money on school loans).
