Question When flying over a marker beacon, do you HAVE to have your VOR tuned to the ILS frequency to see and hear the beacons.
Or can you have any other frequency tuned in the VOR to hear and see the beacons?
Answer Hi Brett,
Great question! The answer is no, you do not have to tune your VOR receiver to the ILS frequency to get the appropriate visual display and audio identification of the respective marker beacon. Your aircraft marker beacon receiver will automatically sense crossing the appropriate beacon. Thanks for the question. Have a great day and happy flying!
