Aviation/Flying - Pilot requirements

Expert: Chris Lachance - 8/8/2008

Question
I just joined the Air Force and was wondering what kinds of requirements it would take physically. Also, what kinds of educational studies would I have to go through?

Answer
The physical requirements for Pilot Training are identical to the requirements to be in the Air Force.  Like anything, though, the better shape you're in the better you will likely do.

The studies you go through are pretty extensive--think of it as a degree in aviation.  Over the course of the year students get hundreds of hours of academics in everything from aircraft systems to physiological training.

Hope this helps--

Lucky
