Question
Hi Paul, this may sound like a silly question but, can aircraft apply their reverse thrust when approaching an airport? whilst staying in spain I heard a distinct change in engine sound and queried whether the reverse thrust had been applied as Alicante Airport is approx.20K away, my father was adamant that the pilot had only tahen "his foot off the accellerator" tus followed a long debate! Who is right??

Experience

The manual I received in training reads: STEWARDESS HANDBOOK. Any more questions, ha-ha? For the last thirty years I have flown for a major carrier, am on the Critical Incident Response Team, was on the safety committee and was a line check flight attendant for several years.
