Aviation/Flying - Piloting Careers

Expert: Ned Dolan - 9/19/2008

Question
Which is the best paying piloting career?
What is the difference between an Air-line pilot and a commercial pilot?

Answer
Hi Edward,

In general flying for major scheduled international carriers are the better paying jobs. Of course there are exceptions to any generalities.

A commercial pilot is one who is qualified to fly passengers or cargo for hire.

Airline pilots are all commercial pilots of course. They also have additional ratings to fly large airplanes.

Hope this helps.   Ned
