I'm 16 years old and I'm in the air cadets I'm trying to get my pilot license but i have to wait until I'm 17 but i was wondering if i get my gliders license will it help me all that much, is it almost required to become a pilot i don't no what to do. If i go get my gliders i will have to spend 6 straight weeks of my summer away from home i just want to no if its really worth it or if it dosen't really make a difference?

Answer
Marie,
Have you solo? If yes you have to work out much more requirements before you can apply for license. Do your X-country flights, navigation and such. If you did not solo you do not have to worry process of getting license even when you study fast can take you between 4-8 months, so based on that when you complete all required hours you'll be around 17 birthday.
Good Luck
