Question
Mike:

I am going to enlist in the Army. What is the best route to become an enlisted army aviation safety personnel. What MOS is best for the field of accident investigation? I currently have an MS degree in aviation.

Answer
Hi Steve,

Well let me see if I can give you the answer you are looking for.
first The Army's Safety Center is located at Ft Rucker, Alabama The field of Accident Investigation is usually headed by a commission or warrant officer, with several enlisted personnel working under them.
These teams are assembled according to what type of accident is was, and the equipment involved ex: CH47, AH64. The team is then flown to the site and begin work.

Steve if I may suggest if you have a MS in aviation why don't you accept a commission and go to flight school. The Army would give you the training to become a safety officer, which is a stepping stone to where you want to be. The schooling you already have would make you a valuable asset in that capacity, more than an enlisted worker. I might add the pay would be greatly increased as well.
