Question
Been Doing some research, and am trying to conclude: If I
have a Private pilot certificate, am I legal to fly light
sport and/or Ultrlight aircraft using my private
certificate??
I'm trying to avoid spending Hours pouring thrugh FAR
subjects. Can you at least give me the regulation locations
regarding this?? It appears there are different sets of
regulations for the different categories;
Ultrlight/sport/Private.

Answer
I Shane,

That's a great question. Anyone holding a valid recreational pilot certificate or higher (e.g. private) may exercise the privileges of a sport pilot certificate, provided the holder complies with the privileges and limitations of a sport pilot certificate. As far as ultralights go, they are governed by FAR section 103 and do not require a pilot certificate. Thanks for the question!
