Question
Hello My name is Cameron and i am a SSgt in the Air Force im am pursuing my aviation science degree and am very close to finishing my private helicopters pilots license and will continue with the commercial would i be permitted to fly in the army with that i do realize alot of additional training would be required. If so would i need to finish the degree or would the certifications be enough?

Answer
Cameron,

First thanks for using All Experts. As prior service you have a leg up on those coming off the street, you understand the process (well as much as it can be understood...lol) First..it is not necessary to have those ratings, is it a help yes, but not required. It will surely make your military training easier. I would stop in and talk with your local recruiter who will have all the latest info on the Army's flight program. You will be given several test which you have already taken plus a flight aptitude exam. You will need a military class I physical and be boarded for flight school. After you endure all that, you can get a date to start flight school here at Ft. Rucker, Al. Since you are prior military I doubt it will be necessary for you to attend boot camp again, so you got that working for you. Best of luck to you, and we will see you when you get here. I hope this helps, if not feel free to ask me anything you like.

Regards,

Mike Hicks
