Question
Greets sir

How does the Tandem blade helicopter move forward and backward?

What kind of engine does a Tandem Blade use? Is it a piston engine? How is engine overheating in a Tandem Blade avoided? Is a radiator used?

Is it true that the Tandem blade is a very powerful helicopter and what's the highest( in Km's) it can fly?

Prashanth

Answer
Prashanth,

Welcome back...first the movement is just like single rotor system helicopters, it tilts the blades
in the direction it needs to go, as directed by the pilot.

You will not find a piston engine in a tandem rotor helicopter these days, they have 2 large turbine engines, therefore no radiator or overheating problems.

Not sure of the service ceiling of these helicopters but you can rest assured it is excess of 25,000 ft. or 7.5 km

hope this helps
