Question
Hello Rosemary am very determined to become a flight attendant. i been searching the net but my problem is am from grenada thats in the caribbean and i the thing is that airline company dont notice people like myself please assist me.this is my dream,i will never give up hope.

Answer
Hello Katisha,
I am not sure of any local airlines in Grenada. If there is one or some, you should contact them directly and ask about any training classes that they may have for flight attendants. If you become an american citizen, there are quite a few airlines that are hiring flight attendants. You would need to read, write and speak english fluently to pass the training which you seem to have already. It is not necessary to speak a foreign language but it helps a flight attendant to progress more quickly in being able to chose their routes and days to work. If you do come to the united states, look for airlines on internet that are hiring. Major airlines have not been training or hiring flight attendants since 911 occurred but many regional/national airlines are, such as Southwest Airlines, Air Tran, Jet Blue, America West just to name a few. Jet Blue seems good as it flys many trips from NYC to florida.Southwest is good for hiring also. Training would last for about 6 weeks, then you would be transferred to one of any bases that they work from. You could commute home on some of your days off. It is a hectic field of work and there is not much time home. I hope this helps for information. The airlines are looking for people with good people skills and experience in customer service. You must be very adaptable and willing to relocate if needed. If I can answer any specific questions please don't hesitate to ask. Good luck in your endeavor. Rosemary
