Question
Ok, the first question is, how old were you when you got your licenses?

What plane did you use for your lessons texting?

What were the requirements for the amount of hours needed; with an instructor in the plane, solo, at night and if required, in simulators?

What was the written test requirements?

How long did the entire process take you to finish?

About how much did it cost you?

In the end was it all worth the money and time?

And would you recommend this to someone that is interested in getting the private pilots licenses?

Answer
I was 33
Piper Warrior
40 hours; 10 solo, no night in the UK, and no simulators then
6 written exams, multiple choice, 75% pass mark
it took me three years, but that was my choice
about 4,000 GB pounds, finishing in 1997
Absolutely worth it

You haven't got a lot of choice if you want a Private Pilot's licence other than doing  a pilots licence course!
