Question
how high can a helicopter fly.

Answer
Without special modifications, helicopters are generally limited to about 15,000 feet.  The reason for this is above that altitude, the air becomes too thin for the rotors to grip.  If the rotors cannot grip the air, the helicopter cannot fly.

I hope this was helpful.
