Question
hi im 13 and i want too know how old you have to be to gewt into training to become a an airline pilot because i am wanting to be a airline pilot for commercial planes

In the USA, you can be hired to fly as a First Officer (co-pilot) at age 21, which is the minimum age most airlines hire pilots. Per FAA regulations, you cannot be an airline captain until age 23 and you must have an Airline Transport Pilot license which requires 1,500 flight hours (although most captains have far more than that). First Officers can get hired with only a commercial pilot license and no ATP.

A pilot must have a commercial license to get paid for flying any aircraft from a Cessna to a 747 and the minumum age for that is 18 with a minimum 250 flight hours. With a new commercial license, most people become flight instructors to build their flight experience to get a First Officer job with a regional airline job. They generally require 1,000 hours of flight time with a commercial license and instrument & multi-engine ratings. The minimum age to solo an aircraft during training is 16 and to get a Private Pilot certificate is 17.
