Question
when an aircraft or airship hovers in the air,
does the earth move away from it?if it hovers in the air, then it remains at the same point in space.so that means the earth does not wait for it.the earth continues to rotate.so it should appear that the helicopter,or blimp,or whatever,
is moving when in fact it is stationary and it is actually the earth that is moving.is any of this true?

Answer
Theoretically it could be possible for a hovering airship or helicopter to remain stationary over the earth's surface as the earth rotates, if there was no wind blowing in any direction. However, the earth spins so slowly that it would be next to impossible to sense any movement. Hope this helps.
