Aviation/Flying/issues or problems in becoming a pilot

Question
i am doing a senior project in my school and my topic is on becoming a pilot. I just wanted to know what are some of the issues or problems in becoming one?

Answer
The most prevelant 'problem' or issue with becoming a pilot is quite simply the prohibitive cost of training.

A pure lack of money or ability to get a loan for the cost of flight training is usually the primary reason one does not pursue becoming a pilot.

On average, it costs about $60,000 for a pilot on the career track. On the low end close to $40,000 and on the upper end as much as $90,000 depending on how you go about it or if you are  getting your training where you get your bachelors degree.

This cost coupled with the low pay that pilots get during their first 5-8 years in the business (not to mention the pay is not what it once was in decades past) is a real detourant for those who may consider the career path.
