Question
QUESTION: HI I'm brittany and I'm 13, In march I'm goin to Fly to Holland for IL... to see my Sister. I'm getting scared from thinking about the flying over the ocean. But my question is how long/hours do you think it takes to fly over the Ocean from were i'm going?? Thank you soo much

Brittany-

ANSWER: Brittany

The flight time will depend on where you are leaving from, which you did not say. For example, a KLM flight from Los Angeles to Amsterdam takes about 10 and a half hours but a flight from New York will take 7 hours.

You don't have anything to worry about on your trip other than boredom. (Bring some things to entertain yourself). Flying over water isn't something you need fret about. Your flight across the Atlantic will be safer than your ride to the airport! Check out this link that explains things that will happen on your flight so you will know what to expect and what the sounds are that you will hear from the aircraft- http://www.fearofflyinghelp.com

You will have a fabulous time!

QUESTION: OK i'm Leaving From O'hare in Chicago IL....I was hoping if you could tell me how many hours it would take total and how many hours it would be JUST flying over the Ocean.. Thanks again!

Answer
Brittany,

A nonstop flight between Chicago and Amsterdam on KLM is listed  as being 7hr 45mn.

As far as what time is spent solely over the ocean time wise, I can't say. You should check out this example flight track for an idea:
