Question
I was just wondering what part of the plane is the safest? Is it the tail section?  

Answer
It depends on the situation really. In aircrashes its usually the empennage (Tail section) which stays intact.
If you want a smooth ride I usually try and sit at the front as the turbulence is less noticeable. the fuselage over the wing is probably the strongest section.
