Question
What is the average ground speed needed for a commercial airplane to take off and are any commercial planes other than the concorde able to break the sound barrier?
  Thanks! just curious. Felix

Answer
I fly small propeller planes, not airliners, so I'm not sure what the takeoff speed of a commercial airliner is, but I think it's around 140-160 miles per hour.

I do know that the Concorde was the only commercial aircraft capable of speeds of mach 1.0 (sound barrier) or higher.

best,
