Question
Hi Jeff:

I am really interesting in learning to fly. I just would like to know a little bit more on what do I need and hoe much would it cost me per week. I appreciate your time.
Thank you.

Answer
The best way to get started is to go to your local airport (pick one that doesn't have any airline traffic if possible) and ask them what they can do for you.  I would recommend taking a few lessons before worrying about a ground school or private pilot course.  As for cost, it varies quite a bit depending on where you are and what kind of airplane you want to fly.  In the USA, you can typically rent a basic training airplane, like a Cessna 150 or 152, for $65 or so per hour, and figure another $15-20 per hour for the instructor.  It takes a minimum of 40 hours of flight time, of which at least 10 must be solo, but 60 to 70 hours is the average amount of time it takes to get a license.  I wouldn't undertake it if I couldn't afford to fly at least once a week, preferably twice or more.  If you fly less often, your skills don't develop as well because of the length of time between lessons.  I hope this has been of some help, please ask more questions as they come up.
