Question How can one tell a CRJ from an ERJ just by the appearance? What in your opinion makes one better than the other.
The same for a B757 and B767.
Thanks
Answer The CRJ has much larger engines than the ERJ. Additionally, the ERJ has a very pointynose, almost pencil-like while the CRJ is a bit thicker. The CRJ also has very distinctive wrap around windows just like the Challenger business jets. The ERJ as a few strakes that stick out from the leading edge too.
Which is better? I have heard amongst the pilot group that the CRJ is a far superior aircraft. I have also heard that our original ERJs have been sent back to Embraer as they were not holding up over the long haul. That would explain why the CRJs cost twice as much....quality!
The 757 is another very long, narrow pencil-like jet that is very igh on it's gear (like on stilits). The 767 on the otherhand is fat and thick in the fuselage by comparision- very cigarlike.
Go to www.airliners.net and compare photos of these a/c and read their "aircraft bios". You will then see the differances for yourself and be able to read about the others.
