Ayurveda/Food combining

Dear Dr. Dehal,

I am wondering about the length of time one needs to observe between ingestion of mutually incompatible food items in order not to cause problems/create ama. For example, if I drink milk, how much time should I wait before eating fish? Or if I eat fruit (digests more quickly), how much time should I wait before eating yogurt?

I am also wondering if, for food combining purposes, kefir made from milk should be treated as milk, or can it be taken together with items that are incompatible with milk?

Thank you for your help and your attention, and sending you all my best wishes,

The length depends on time taken for complete digestion of previously food taken. For liquid item like milk or fruits it takes minimum of 75 min to be digested so one has to wait till that time to consume next incompatible food item.
Kefir is a fermented milk product. So kefir, curd, butter milk though all are milk products but can not be consumed along with milk.So these can not be taken with any food items which are also incompatible with milk like fish.
