Question
I have a master and I've been ordered to come up with a slave name. Any suggestions? Something along the lines of trash, unwanted, leftovers, reject. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you for coming to me with your question.  I do apologize for not answering it right away, due to being out of the country on vacation.

A slave name is very important.  The changing of her name signifies not only a change of status, but also of identity.  I know, from personal experience, how humbling it can be to realize that you don't even have the right to determine what you call yourself.  Most slave's names will also carry some component of her Master's name -- for instance, my own Master's initials are a part of my own name.

Slave names can come from a variety of sources.  In the Gorean world, you will often see girls named after various characters from the Gor novels, or given other names which sound exotic.  My own name comes from the Sanskrit (ancient Indian), and was the name of one of their sex goddesses.  Others (I'm guessing you are one of these) will be given names that could be seen as demeaning or humiliating, as a reminder to the slave that she is of a lower status than her Master.  Some names will be given based on a personality trait, or some favorite flower or gemstone (for example) of the Master's.

My suggestion is to look in a thesaurus for words that are similar to what you have mentioned.  (A thesaurus is like a dictionary, but instead of definitions contains a list of synonyms and antonyms -- words that mean the same or the opposite of a given word.)  You can find some good ones on line -- I like to use Yahoo's.  Or try a website that allows you to type in a word and then translates that word into another language -- these can also be found on line.

Instead of presenting your Master with just one name, make up a list of several that appeal to you.  Give him the list and allow him to choose which one he likes.  In the end, however, you may not have any choice, but have to adapt to whatever he chooses to call you.  Consider a name to be one of the best gifts that a Master can give to his property.
