About arani_CsA
Expertise
I am available to answer any questions you might have about Domination/submission, or Master/slave relationships. Currently, I have been spending a lot of time researching and thinking about the relationship between spirituality and slavery/submission. I define myself as a Gorean slave, but I have studied other forms of consensual slavery as well.

Experience
I was collared by my Master on May 6, 2000, and on Nov. 8, 2003 became his wife as well. Prior to that time, I wore the collars of two other men. My website can be accessed at http://www.geocities.com/dancer_of_gor, and my Yahoo! group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/itsaslaveslife.

Question
I have found a Dom that I absolutely adore, and I want to ask him to take me as his, but I have never written a letter requesting it before. I know there are sites out there with such help but it has been a very long time since I have seen them. I simply need a guideline. Can you help me find a site that has samples or even help as to how to write one?

Thank you for reading and thank you in advance for any advice or help you can offer,
chrissy

Answer
Hello...

Thank you for coming to me with your question.  I hope I can help you find the answer you are looking for.

Here is a good example of a submissive's petition:
http://www.vanilla-not.com/reallife/petition.html

Coming from the background of a slave, I tend to see things somewhat differently.  Basically, think of it as applying for a job.  You may hope for a romantic relationship, but the love you may feel for your Master (or the love He may feel for you) is more along the lines of a bonus -- it's not an essential part of the relationship.

There isn't really any set protocol for doing this.  But, think of a petition as ALL of the things that a slave does when searching for a prospective Master.  I would assume that by this time you've thoroughly researched this man's background and what He is looking for in a slave.  Have you spoken to any other slaves He has owned, or to anyone who can give Him a reference?  Have you discussed with Him what He is looking for in a slave?

Think about what you do when looking for a job.  You will most likely provide a prospective employer with a resume, or a listing of your training and experience, along with any special talents you may have had.  Often you will be asked for references, both to your professional abilities and to your character.  Then you will be summoned for an interview for further discussion of the above.

Before you do any of this, you should have taken some time to analyze your own motivations and desires.  What is it that you have to offer a potential Master?  What is it that you want from Him?

Your petition should include things like how long you have been in the lifestyle, how many Masters you have served, what the lifestyle means to you, and so on.  If you are a novice, don't lie, but admit this freely and offer yourself for training.  However, be prepared to accept all that this can lead to.  The most important part of your petition should be why you want to serve a Master, what your desires are, what motivates you as a slave, and what you can offer Him.  Include your most important characteristics -- loyalty, obedience, and so on.  Be sure that your wants and needs are balanced, and that you know how to differentiate between the two things.

Be sure to include any restrictions that might be present -- physical handicaps/health problems, children, health restrictions, and so on.  List any special talents you may have that would be of benefit to the Master -- great cook, love rope bondage, etc.  Also include special interests such as spirituality or reading, especially if you know the potential Master is also interested in these things.

It's also very important, when you get to the interview stage, that you ask questions of Him.  This will help you find out what He is looking for, and what kind of a Master He is likely to be.  However, the focus should not be on what He can do for you, but on what you can do for Him.

Good luck to you, and if you have any further questions, feel free to let me know.
