Question
I have a question concerning how to show a friends boy how much he means to our group of friends who do things together socially. He is a very special person and touches my heart with his kindness and gentle spirit. I am pagan and would to give him some kind of token to say how much he is respected by us and cared for. Do you think a Viking symbol of courage would be okay to give him, with the Sirs permission of course?

Answer
Pam,

If I was the boy in question, I would be SO honored to receive such a gift.

My Sir in addition would be proud of the fact that his boy would have been so important to someone that they would give such a thoughtful and beautiful gift.

In days gone by there was a keep your boy in the house mentality or a boy is to be seen and not heard school of thought.

Hopefully big mouths such as myself have helped to erradicate such thoughts <EG>

So yes, just out of respect check with the Sir, but I couldn't imagine there being any problem, and secondly, if the boy isn't pagan or doesn't know what the symbol may mean, be sure to explain it.

Pam it is a beautiful gift and a beautiful idea to share with someone I think he'll be truly touched.
