Question was speaking with a Master at a recent play party and He was explaining the difference between a sub and slave. He mentioned a ceremony of the roses (which i have read on), but also saying there is a "taking of a slave" ceremony. i have done my best to search for this and have yet to find anything on it that compared to what He vaguely spoke on. He said it wasn't nice or pretty, which seems to be the consensus of "ceremonies" out there. have You ever heard of this and if so, do you know where i could find something to read on it or can it be described in detail?

While I have personally never seen, nor heard of the "Taking of The Slave" ceremony, it doesn't mean that it does not exist, despite my attempts to find anything on it.
Personally, it sounds a lot like "Gorean" play, which is a sort of roleplay based on a series of books from John Norman (A pseudonym), which relates to an earth like planet that revolves around Our sun, opposite the earth.
Not all Ceremonies are harsh, nor cruel. As you said, the Ceremony of The Roses is not at all cruel. It's a very beautiful, solemn ceremony that does not involve any real pain, unless you consider pricking your finger to be painful.
Usually, when someone speaks of a ceremony being harsh, it's usually either Gorean, or something the Dominant made up themselves as a way to train Their property. Gorean is a harsh "lifestyle", where there is NO scening at all. The only time a slave gets to feel a whip in "Gorean Play" is during punishment, which is swift, extremely painful, and rapid. Reasons for punishment are numerous, and can even be done on the Masters' whim, with absolutely no wrong doing on the part of the slave.
I would approach the Dom you spoke with, and ask Him to elaborate on the taking of the slave ceremony, as well as asking where more info on it can be found. I have a feeling you ill not find much about it on the net, but it's worth trying.
