Question
I have noticed that when I scene without pain being inflicted. I reach a state of mind that is very for lack of a better word very deep, and sounds very similar to the way subspace is described but not as intense.

Does the mind release the same or similar chemicals but to a lesser degree during intense mental stimulation and not just intense physical stimulation? I even seem to have to after effects but to a lesser degree perhaps then you mention in your writings on sub dropout.

Quite honestly, yes. The human body releases several chemicals into the bloodstream during a scene. The scene does not have to include pain to achieve a subspace like state. Heavy fear play, sex, and a few other activities can release these chemicals.

Also, since the body and mind is familiar with being scened, it can have an automatic response to the stimuli, much as Pavlov's Dogs would drool at the ringing of a dinner bell, despite the lack of food at that time. The only difference is that the response will not be as strong as it would during the actual scene, and yes, the body would also go through a form of "drop" as the chemicals released by the body returned to normal levels after dropping for a time to below normal.
